 abstract={As a critical review of the issue, this study aims to typologically position Spanish on the possible scales of clitic doubling evolution, within Romance languages and in comparison with the Sprachbund of Balkan languages, based on available data in current bibliography and in the PROLEGRAMES corpus. The working hypothesis is that Spanish, due to an increasing state of grammaticalization of object clitic doubling, will tend toward the state observed in Romanian and even Macedonian, thereby aligning more closely with agglutinative languages typological-morphological clock by Dixon (1997, apud Mendívil Giró, 2015: 174).},
