 abstract={The aim of this paper is to describe the means of the lexical and grammatical expressions of deontic modality in the texts of the constitutions of six Spanish-speaking Central American countries. Preliminary results of its quantitative and qualitative analysis will be presented in order to demonstrate that Central American legislative language presents a variety of resources to indicate the obligatory, permissive or restrictive nature of certain actions or dispositions.},
